A set of guardian deities based on Sanskrit characters and zodiac signs (Sanskrit Guardian Goddess)

Before I explain the Sanskrit Guardian Goddess collection, I would like to briefly explain Sanskrit characters.

"Sanskrit" is a typeface that was developed as an ancient Indian script and was used to write "Sanskrit". In Japan, it is often called ``Shittanmoji,'' and it is said to have been introduced to Japan via China in the mid-6th century.

It was also introduced to Japan as a Buddhist ``character that represents the gods and Buddha in a single character,'' and it is said that Kukai systematized it. Sanskrit characters are treated with the same importance as Buddhist statues, Buddhist utensils, and sutras. Unfortunately, the ``Sanskrit characters'' (Chudu characters) used in India and China have become obsolete and are now mainly used only in Japan.

As explained above, ``Sanskrit'' has the meaning not only as a character but also as ``a character that expresses God and Buddhism with a single character.'' This means that the Sanskrit characters themselves represent gods. Each Sanskrit character symbolizes a different god. For example, the Sanskrit character ``Kiriku'' refers to ``Senju Kannon Bodhisattva,'' and the Sanskrit character ``Talaak'' refers to ``Senju Kannon Bodhisattva.''Kokuzo Bodhisattva”, etc. It means "Sanskrit = God".

And one more thing: Sanskrit characters have characters that are determined by the zodiac signs. For example, the Sanskrit character for the Year of the Rat is ``Kiriku,'' and the Sanskrit character for the Year of the Ox is ``Talaak.''

In the example given above, the Sanskrit character for the Year of the Rat is ``Kiriku,'' and this Sanskrit character ``Kiriku'' refers to ``Senju Kannon Bodhisattva.'' To explain it in an easy-to-understand way, the diagram is ``Year of the Rat (zodiac sign) = Kirik (Senju Kannon Bodhisattva)''. In this way, the Sanskrit characters (gods) are different depending on each zodiac sign. The Sanskrit god that corresponds to your zodiac sign becomes your ``guardian deity.''

Zocalo's Sanskrit Guardian Goddess collection incorporates this set of zodiac signs and Sanskrit characters (gods) into jewelry designs.

The circular frame made of 925 silver is engraved with ``ivy,'' which has meanings such as ``eternity,'' ``immortality,'' and ``longevity,'' and is revered as a symbol of ``vitality'' and ``continuity.'' In the center is a bronze coin, with intricately carved Sanskrit characters on one side and zodiac signs on the other.

It is a remarkable piece of work because if you get a piece of jewelry with your zodiac sign on it, you can also wear the Sanskrit character (guardian deity) at the same time. Why not use it not only as jewelry to add color to your fashion, but also as a talisman to protect yourself?
