Sanskrit Guardian Goddess
Set of guardian deities based on Sanskrit characters and zodiac signs
It was developed as an ancient Indian script and is said to have been introduced to Japan via China in the mid-sixth century. A font used to write Sanskrit, also called ``Bonji Shittan''.
Each represents the Buddha/Bodhisattva (Hotoke/Bosatsu), as well as the guardian deity determined by the year of birth (zodiac sign).
A bronze coin with Sanskrit characters engraved on one side and zodiac signs on the other side is set in a 925 silver ivy pattern frame.
